Spring has sprung

On the long weekend, we went back to Mudgee. We left on Friday night, and remembered that it is quite a long way - even more so in the dark! At least we were able to enjoy a full day there on Saturday. After a wonderful breakfast at Forgandenny House (the B & B where we stayed), we hit the wineries. We went to Mirramar first and bought a white and a dessert wine. In fact, we bought a white and a dessert wine at nearly all the wineries! We also went to Burnbrae to get a bottle of their Late Harvest, Frog Rock for some Rose, Elliot Rock for their Ice Wine and Bunnamagoo - the newest winery in Mudgee. We also went to the olive factory to get some more of their fantastic garlic-infused olive oil. On Sunday, we went to Rylstone, but there was not too much to see there. Unfortunately, it was also quite wet, so our bushwalk was cut short. On the way home on Monday, we stopped at Logan Wines, where there were some great views. Shame we didn't get good weather, but now we have plenty of wine at home!

Winter happenings

Here we are in not-so-sunny London in June. We had a great time in London and saw a lot in 4 days. We went to Greenwich, Madame Tussauds, the London Eye, St Pauls Cathedral, Notting Hill and the Changing of the Guard.
After London, we caught the Eurostar to Paris, where we had 5 days. We arranged a full day private photography tour, so we were taken around Paris by a local who gave us tips on photography. We walked around Montmatre, the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre. What a great day!
After Paris, we went to the Loire Valley, where we went to Chateau Chennoceaux and Chateau Amboise. Next stop Bordeaux where we went on a private wine tour - 3 wineries with private driver. Very extravagant, but all the group tours were booked out, and the private tour was better anyway.
After France, we made our way to Spain, where we went to San Sebastian, Avila, Seville, Cordoba and Madrid. We caught up with Chloe in Cordoba, who is a friend of ours who has moved their to be a missionary. We had some great food in Spain and saw lots of historic and interesing things. Between us, we took 4000 photos, so there was much sorting when we arrived home.
Meanwhile, I have been sick twice in the last 2 weeks, so am hoping the rest of the year will be healthy. Looking forward to another trip to Mudgee for the long weekend in October.

May 2010

Time flies by so quickly, and the holiday that we have been planning since January is finally here. Tomorrow, we are flying to London, where we are staying with close friends of Steph. After a few days, we are catching the Eurostar to Paris, where we are doing a photography course. We are then making our way through France to Spain, and catching up with Chloe, who is a missionary in Cordorba. Should be a lot of fun!

Recent events

This is a picture of Pathi Harn - the new bahy elephant at Taronga Zoo. Steph and I went to the zoo on the Easter long weekend. We had a great day at the zoo and took hundreds of photos. We are looking forward to our holiday in May/June so we can take even more photos! We are also doing a photography course in Paris for one day. It is a private course, and we will be taken around the city and given some tips on composition. Should be great!

First blog for the year - in March

Wow - it is March already and there is no post on the blog! The photo is from our weekend away in Avoca, which Steph got me for my birthday. We had a great time away and both had a massage. Meanwhile, we are looking forward to our trip to Europe in exactly 8 weeks. We are going to London for a few days, followed by Paris, through France to Spain, finishing in Madrid. We are excited about seeing some friends not seen for a while and a photography course we booked in Paris. It is a full day with a professional photographer and it is a private tour - how cool!

Is it nearly Christmas?

Wow - it is nearly Christmas - again! The year has flown by so quickly, as it does every year. I have been really organised and done my Christmas shopping early this year. Mind you, the Christmas tree is not up yet (hopefully this weekend) and the Christmas cards are not done. We have had a great year, and are looking forward to 2010. There are many changes on the cards, so it is sure to be interesting.
